OUR METAL FABRICATION PROCESS

Concept Stage

We will work with you to understand your exact project specifications, preferences, budget and turnaround requirements. At this stage, you will be allocated a project manager who will discuss these matters with you, make recommendations and draft a project timeline to be agreed upon and signed off by you.

Design

The design stage will involve formalising the exact specifications for your steelwork project overall and creating CAD drawings which will be done by our specialist in-house CAD team. Once the dimensions, and aesthetics are agreed upon, these specifications will then be signed off by you ready for fabrication.

Fabrication

Once we have the correct designs, the fabrication process will then be carried out using a range of different processes including cutting, bending and folding, drilling, welding and finishing. Once we have manufactured the desired product to its exact measurements and specifications, your metal architectural work is then ready to be installed.

Installation

As well as the design and fabrication, MJ Patch also offers installation for your metalwork. We will take care of the delivery and our engineers will install your metalwork on-site following all project specifications. This means we take care of every step of your metal product from the initial concept, right through to installation.

METAL FABRICATION FAQS

Metal fabrication is the process of shaping metal into different products used in various industries. There are various processes and techniques involved throughout the fabrication process such as cutting, bending and folding, drilling, welding and finishing. The three most common types of fabrication are industrial, structural and commercial and MJ Patch offers all three of these fabrication services.

Here at MJ Patch, we design, fabricate and install a range of products across various industries. Our metal products include architectural metalwork, balconies, balustrades, canopies, access platforms, staircases, steel frame buildings, steel supplies, steel profiles, anodised aluminium profiles, and structural steelwork. Our fabrication services are completely bespoke to meet your individual project requirements which all start with the initial concept and design stage.

There are several factors which impact the cost of metal fabrication. The type of metal required will contribute towards the cost as each metal type, thickness and grade will have different price points. The design complexity, size and volume, fabrication process, labour cost, equipment required, project size and timeline, and installation process will also affect the cost of fabrication. For a more detailed cost estimate, contact us and we can discuss this in the concept stage, once we know more about the product you require.

MJ Patch works with a variety of metals. Naturally, steel is our most used material as it’s commonly used throughout the construction industry which is a sector we frequently fabricate steel for. That being said, we also fabricate other metals for a range of other industries including aluminium. The choice of metal depends on the project requirements for strength, corrosion resistance, weight and appeal.
Various industries rely on and benefit from metal fabrication including construction, aerospace, transportation, automotive, electronics, energy and power, HVAC, industrial equipment and machinery, mining, oil and gas, telecommunications and many more.
