We were approached directly by our client, Desklodge Bristol, to supply and install structural trimmer steelwork, a new feature staircase, and an associated staircase and landing balustrade as part of their large new office refurbishment project within the Beacon Tower.
The structural steelwork, which was installed out of hours to prevent disruption to the occupied offices, was required to maintain structural integrity to the existing first-floor slab, allowing for a large cutout to be formed for the new staircase. Upon completion of the structural works, a new powder-coated freestanding feature staircase structure was manufactured and installed, providing improved access from the ground floor to the first floor. Stainless steel balustrades with a satin brushed finish were then provided both around the perimeter of the first-floor opening and on both sides of the new staircase structure.
